End of an Era - Beginning of a new one!!

My journey of 12.5 years.
It’s a very tough decision to make but as they say, change is inevitable.
Today was my last working day at Ramaiah Hospitals since I resigned from the post of Associate professor to start a full-time clinic-based private practice.
I have Joined in 2009, as a senior registrar just after my MS Orthopedics. Great seniors and excellent colleagues made me get attached to the Institute. Got myself involved in Orthopedic teaching and learning. I have completed three fellowships by taking leave from work.
Learned, performed, mastered, taught, published, trained youngsters, presented, conducted several courses, and promoted the Art of Arthroplasty.
Over the next few years actively performed pelvis and acetabulum surgeries, knee arthroscopy, and osteotomy. Completely involved in postgraduate training, teaching, and started a fellowship in arthroplasty.
I have performed more than 5000 surgeries.
I will miss the Place, the Institute, the Department, and the Colleagues, OT staff, hospital staff, and postgraduates. I owe a lot to this place and will carry memories with me forever.
I am very much thankful to each and everyone who made this journey a beautiful and memorable one. I leave with a heavy heart but different dreams for the future.

Who is Dr Sharath K R ?
Dr. Sharath K R has distinguished himself as a well-known orthopaedic, joint replacement and sports knee surgeon. Besides his fellowship in Italy’s, Rizzoli orthopaedic institute, he has visited University hospital Innsbruck, Holy spirit northside hospital, Brisbane for advanced training in knee/hip surgeries, Robotic/computer navigated surgeries and sports related ligament surgeries of the knee.
He was working as an Associate professor and senior consultant in Ramaiah medical college and Hospitals for 12 and half years till Dec 2021. He has vast experience in handling complex surgeries and advanced techniques and has performed more than 3000 Joint replacement, ligament surgeries and osteotomies of knee. He has successfully conducted eleven arthroplasty cadaver courses in the last five years and helped more than 250 young surgeons learn and perform knee and hip arthroplasty through his courses. He is a distinguished member of various orthopaedic associations. He has to his credit more than 17 scientific articles in indexed national and international journals. He has been invited to various national conferences to deliver his expertise in knee and hip surgery. He was invited by Mongolian orthopaedic group and orthopaedic surgeons of south Iraq to perform knee/hip replacement surgery for their young surgeons’ training.
